Sanctuary's Z1000MkII

Z1000MK_Sanctuary_01.jpg

The Sanctuary Group, whose flagship store is the main Sanctuary store, is still receiving an endless number of requests to build a custom machine based on the air-cooled Z series. The requests for an air-cooled Z-series, a long-cherished dream of many years, and a custom complete machine RCM manufactured by Sanctuary, are endless.

The owner of this Z1000MkII had longed for a Z1000MkII with RCM and hoped to obtain the sporty style of the single seat version and the athletic performance to match. However, converting the air-cooled Z series to a single-seat configuration was a considerable amount of work. Aside from simple things like covering the pillion seat, most of them require rebuilding the seat rail itself, adding a rear shock mounting boss, making mounting brackets for license plate, blinkers, batteries, etc., and wiring around the taillights, etc., all of which require a considerable investment of time and money. Even if the owner's enthusiasm allows him to invest a reasonable amount of money, it is human nature to want to keep costs down if possible.

Engine

The oil cooler is a 9-inch 13-stage released by Nitro Racing. The hoses are the original upper hose. The 13-stage cooler is a bit excessive, but the high-pressure oil pump ensures that the full amount of oil is used.

The engine was big-bored to 1,105 liters by Pistal Racing. This is the aftermath of a long-life-conscious menu that included replacing loose sleeves, rather than a strong focus on increasing power.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust system is Nitro Racing's. The silencer is a variant titanium silencer. The modern tri-oval shape also makes it appealing as "a model that can be driven on modern roads".

Chassis

The wheels are the latest model GASS RS-A (GASS RS-A) made by O-Z Racing, and by using ZRX1200 wheels, the peripheral parts are also based on the ZRX1200 standard, ensuring future maintenance and expandability.

Öhlins front forks use the E x M (Exchange Mode) package, which Sanctuary sells as a set with front fenders and fender brackets. Brackets are sculpture type 3.

The rear shocks are the same Ohlins shocks that are used on the Zephyr 1100. Of course, the shocks were not used as they were when purchased, but were carefully set up so that they can keep up with the high level of performance of the RCM.

The rear brake is not an ON / OFF digital brake, but a combination that can be controlled by stepping on it in a more analog manner. The brakes are designed to work slowly, so there is a lot of room to step on the brakes.

Handle

Magical Racing's carbon mirror has been used by Sanctuary in many cases. The lightweight design prevents blurring, and the high rear visibility of the blue mirror has been well received by users.

The separate handle is made by Daytona. This is another brand that has been used in many Sanctuary models. The switches have also been modified to be as easy to use as those on the current model. This enhances reliability.

Bodyworks

One of the most popular Sanctuary parts is the TOMO FRP single seat cowl, which is also used by Sanctuary Z racers. The seat rails are newly made for the installation, and the brackets are hidden under the seat for easy access to the various parts for maintenance. Even the parts that cannot be seen have been carefully crafted.

Frame

The swingarm is made by Sculpture, which was developed in-house. There is a diverse line-up, including air-cooled Z series and GPZ900R, and each is designed to provide the optimum body posture for each vehicle model.
